ngl i wasn't originally a fan of will wood but this was the song that really sticks n vibes with me.

This song is attached to a SUPER old para, like there's maybe 7 paras that even compare (a minecraft oc named Lily [techncially was a parame but no relation now], a generic wolf oc named Fireflie [yes mispelled, and was a persona/parame but not anymore], a joke warrior oc named "fireflama", a warrior with the most hilarious name of "Echo whisper", another one named Quillpaw + Nightpaw, and Cozy [vague slug creature])

So i’ve been tempted to remake my intro post because, ngl kinda hate my first one pf.

Defiant whumpees who are broken by the end of it (and this can go in two ways!!! Whumpee being shattered, feeling worthless, like they have no place in the world, they flinch and tense, they cry into their pillow at night. They lean into caretakers touch, the first kind touch they’ve felt in years, maybe. 

But on the other hand, whumpees that are Broken, like shards of glass. They never lost their spark nor their defiance, they killed whumper in cold blood and pushed away any horror or regret they felt to it. They escaped into the night with nothing, they fed on garabge and did odd jobs, theyre drunk constantly, they do anything to distract themself. They snap at anyone who looks at them with an ounce of pity, they wipe the blood pouring from their nose and grin with bloodied teeth, “is that all you’ve got?” they taunt, because they’ve been through it all before, they push away the pain because pain is life, and they will not stop, they will not give in)

alright, so. i already wrote this intro, but lost it because i have minus ten brains, and i’m going to be honest with you: it was a pretty good intro, and i’m a bit bummed about losing it, so i can’t promise that this one will be just as good rip.

ADOPTION, BIRTH, PARENTAL DEATH TWS. matilda was the first and only daughter of an american immigrant who got pregnant at the age of nineteen. she died giving birth, never even getting a chance to name the child, and since no one could figure anything out about tillie’s other parent, she was put into the wixen adoption system. she ended up being adopted by the longbottoms when she was 3 months old, and therefore never knew much of anything but the longbottoms when it came to family.

ADOPTION, GUILT TW. the thing is, there has never been a single doubt in tillie’s mind that neville and hannah are her real parents; the ones she loves and who love her. still, she can’t help but wonder sometimes. what if her biological mother had gotten the chance to raise her? did her other parent even knew she existed and decided never to get involved, or were they always completely unaware of her existence? with an overactive imagination like hers, thoughts like that and countless scenarios constantly made their way through tillie’s head, and it made her feel unbelievably guilty. she was a longbottom, through and through. still, there was always this little “what if” at the back of her mind. it didn’t make her love her parents and siblings any less, of course, but she felt guilt for even just wondering. those are feelings she’s never talked about to anyone, though. i’m not even sure she fully realizes how present they are within herself. (this is heavily inspired by someone i know, and makes me feel very emotional, so i might not write it out all that much in paras and what not, but i thought it was important to include it in her intro, as it does matter and is part of her character development!)

she wasn’t a quiet baby, and definitely didn’t turn into a quiet child. matilda was always loud, and always aching to be heard and listened to. she was babbling from a very young age, and started talking before the age of one. she wasn’t reciting proust by heart, of course, but she talked the way some two year olds did before the age of one. she just!!!!! ached to communicate so damn much, and got very frustrated when she didn’t know the right word to express herself, and since she was quick to anger, being misunderstood by people led to a lot of tantrums. all in all, she wasn’t an easy child, especially not as a toddler.

still, she was a charming and bold kid, and tended to attract positive attention. really, it was mostly around her parents and/or whoever was taking care of her at the moment that she could be a bit... difficult. she loved putting on little shows (though it was a GREAT idea not to call them “little” in front of her), and always tried to drag her friends and siblings into doing various performances with her, such as dancing, acting, singing, etc. she always made a bit production of it, too, and would ask any and every stranger that she would come upon in whatever environment she was in to come watch her shows.

matilda adored making up stories!!!! she loved reading, and loved inventing stories and games based off what she read, but even before she could read, she was making up stories and like!!!!! she had a very vivid imagination and would tell stories to any and everybody who would listen to her. she was such a good storyteller (for someone her age), that, um, at one point, she realized she could also lie pretty damn well. she started lying left and right, just for the hell of it, and that might have been the thing that got her into the most trouble with people, especially her parents. she still has difficulties not lying nowadays. she just......... loves making stuff up? she tries very hard not to, but it seems to be an urge that’s too strong to constantly resist.

she had a lot of energy, and sometimes when she didn’t get to let it out, she got moody and angry and not as fun as usual to be around. to counter that, her parents signed her up to muggle kickboxing classes, after a few failed attempts at team sports. tillie was a bit of a bossy kid, and she didn’t do well at team sports back when she was younger. luckily enough, she excelled at kickboxing, and absolutely adored it. later on, she even dabbled in some muggle martial arts, and though she never used her training in a real life situation (not until the inferi, at least), she loved knowing she had the ability to defend herself and/or other people. 

her relationship with her parents wasn’t always easy in her childhood (and her teenage years either, but we’ll get to that later), but she never doubted how much she loved them and how much they loved her. of course, that can be changed depending on the people who play neville and hannah, but yes! with her siblings, i feel like the relationship might have been a bit smoother? or at least, i definitely think that for younger siblings. older siblings, i don’t know. we’d have to plot it out, but............... tillie automatically goes angry emoji face at any semblance of authority so just someone two years older than her being “in charge” when she’s 10 and both her parents go out would make her the fight me emoji just out of principle eogiergjeirjgeoirjierjg. but like!!!!! my point is!!!!! tillie loves her family so damn much!!!!! would destroy the whole wide world for them, and like????? tillie loves the world!!!!! she’s quite disappointed in it, but she wants it to do better!!!!! and for them????? she’d destroy it!!!!!!!!

HOGWARTS YEARS

ok, but.......... i’d love for tillie to have made like....... a nemesis tm on her first hogwarts express ride to hogwarts. we could even make it into a REALLY slow burn enemies to lovers like?????? them always being nemesis and now being stuck in the same place in such a complicated situation??????? amazing!!!!!! i’d love if they were tillie’s opposite, too, but this isn’t my wanted connections page (which is linked below) so egoiergoiejrgijer. i’ll refrain from babbling on and on about it.

matilda longbottom being sorted into gryffindor was a surprise to like, absolutely no one who knew her. she was loud, brash, brave, courageous, etc. and it was like....... expected for her to end up there. thing is, personally, i think she had qualities of all the houses? imaginative & creative for ravenclaw, ambitious & driven for slytherin, and loyal & all for justice and what not for hufflepuff.

tillie was always one to cheer for the underdog, and so i bet that she first made friends with all the kids who seemed to have difficulty fitting in before she made friends with the rest tm. honestly, i’m picturing her having been pretty popular during her time at hogwarts? not in a “mean girls” way, but rather in the fact that a lot of people just...... liked her. of course, she had (and still has) pretty strong opinions and is not easily swayed in her convictions, so the people who disagreed with her might not have liked her all that much, but still. eoijgeriojgeiorjgeiorjgoierjg and like ofc other people disliked her too like she has a pretty strong personality so i think!!!!!! it’s like hate or love; there’s very little in the middle. which i think still fits within the popular thing, because, really, most people would at least have an opinion about her.

stood up to bullies a bit too intensely, and probably got in trouble for it. she didn’t give a sh*t about the fact that her dad was a teacher and she’d get in trouble at home as well as in school; she had no patience for people who picked on others, especially not people who had it more difficult than others. she saw things in black and white, and didn’t really get the whole “the bully might have had a super hard life too” side of things. if you did something bad, and didn’t apologize, then you were a bad person, and that was it. she’s a bit less, um, intense about her way of thinking nowadays, but not by that much ergoierjoigjeroigjerojger.

does not forgive easily, and never has. like, she saw someone steal a candy bar from another kid in her first year, and she still hasn’t forgiven them. she “hates” them and it’s eorigjeirojgoeirgjeoirgjer. she needs to relax a bit. which is funny, becausse generally she’s really chill, but there are some things that get her blood BOILING.

she couldn’t exactly do kickboxing at hogwarts, and so she became a reserve beater in her second year, before becoming a complete (tm) beater in her fourth year. she stopped after sixth year, though, and in her seventh year, she began a secret, not-so-sanctioned-by-hogwarts, Muggle Martial Arts & Other Fighting Techniques Club for people who wanted to either practice it, like her, or simply wanted to learn. would it have been sanctioned if she had asked? maybe. but she loved feeling like a rebel egoieroigjerjgoer.

probably came out as a lesbian in her fourth year. tillie liked girls, and she didn’t want to hide it. she’s always acted like she’s super confident, though, but in fact she’s kind of insecure when it comes to relationships? she’s scared of not being enough, and has always been. it’s eorgjeriojgeoijgerijo sad.

AFTER HOGWARTS

tillie had zero clues whatsoever about what she wanted to do after hogwarts. she hadn’t chosen her n.e.w.t. classes with any specific career in mind, and she kind of panicked the summer after her seventh year, clueless about what she was supposed to do. then, she decided to work for a year, and then travel for the next. she knew it wasn’t the most “valid” choice, long-term-wise, but it was what she wanted to do, and so she did it.

she worked for a year at flourish & blotts, which was quite challenging for someone who preferred debating and helping others to selling books, but she was somewhat of an avid reader, after all, and so she did enjoy the discounts and discussions that inevitably occured about books.

and then, she went on to travel. she decided that, having explored a bit of europe with friends and family in the past, she’d go to another continent. and, very maturely, she decided to choose by closing her eyes, spinning a globe around, and stopping it at random with her finger. that method led to her deciding to visit north america, central america & south america. she started in canada, and finished in brazil. on her way, she visited all the countries on the continent, though, of course, she stayed in some for longer than in others. her favourites were mbolivia, argentina & belize. she did also enjoy a couple of cities in canada and the usa as well, but those were more reminiscent of home, and didn’t make as much of an impact on her.

she, uh, sucked at keeping in touch with people back home when she was travelling, so that could definitely be a starting or middle point for a plot? i think she may have taken the time to stay in touch with people if she knew things were more difficult for them, but otherwise, she kind of didn’t feel the need to contact people every day or so. and whilst that worked for her, whether that worked or not with your chara(s), if they were the kind who’d have stayed in touch with her, is completely up to you.

she came back and was like!!!!!! this is boring!!!!!! she started working part-time as a clerk at the ministry of magic, and was like :( because she missed travelling and meeting new people and just!!!!! she felt like something was missing. finally, someone told her of a non-profit organization that helped wixen refugeess that had escaped muggle and wixen wars in other countries, and she was like :o and decided to try and help out! she became a part-time volunteer with them, and adored it. she didn’t know if she’d spend her life doing what she was doing, doing two part-time things, but at the moment, it worked for her. 

INFERI CRISIS

the reason why she only arrived at hogwarts in september, and towards the end of september at that? she was trying to save as many people as possible. tillie cannot stand seeing people suffer, and when she becomes passionate about something, it’s the one thing she thinks about, and well...... she got REALLY passionate about saving people. 

i don’t think she’s fully processed what is happening yet, to be honest. like, she gets it; she’s not unaware, but........ in a way, it still feels fake, somehow. i think it’s because she’s been on a huge adreline rush since it first started, and because she’s been focusing on others rather than herself. everything’s been happening so fast that the facts just...... haven’t had time to settle into her mind.

she decided to finally go to hogwarts because she missed the members of her family who she knew were most likely there, and she wanted to make sure they were okay. and after getting there, it felt like leaving just wasn’t an option. not when there were so many people she could help in one single place.

she decided to be a hunter because, whilst it’s not her absolute favourite thing to do in the whole wide world, she’s good at it and it doesn’t bother her to do it when necessary. thing is, she knows it’d be way harder for some other people to do it, and so she does it so that they don’t have to. she really, really respects animals and creatures, though, and so i get like? lowkey artemis vibes from this side of her?

Eurovision 2009 my top 42

Hello, and welcome to another episode of this ESC top series, and I go back to May 12, 14 and 16, 2009, when the 54th edition of the contest was held in Moscow, Russia, after Dima Bilan’s victory in Belgrade last year. 42 countries took part, while San Marino withdrew and Georgia was disqualified because of a breach of the contest rules, Slovakia returned to the contest after their last showing in 1998. This year is known as the one when the juries returned, making 50% of the final score together with the televote, this year it was only implemented on the final, but in next years they were introduced on the semis as well. The contest was won by Norway and Alexander Rybak with the song Fairytale, making this their 3rd win overall and also he set a record number of points and a record for the most 12 points, so it was a very smashing victory. Also the stage was so stunning and big, I love that stage so much. And now, let’s review the songs!

1st Place: NORWAY/Alexander Rybak-Fairytale (Real Placing: 1st-387 points)

This guy has one of my favorite songs of all time, and it’s timeless, the music is so pretty, the lyrics resume my love life and he’s so cute, the performance is a truly fairytale and after many listens throughout the years, I never get tired of it. 

2nd Place: FRANCE/Patricia Kaas-Et si’l fallait le faire (Real Placing: 8th-107 points) 

This is such a masterpiece, her voice is so wonderful, I’m in love with it and her pronunciation, the music is like something out of a French movie, and it’s stunning, the performance is perfect and she’s such a classy singer. A lot of passion and feeling in this song, 

3rd Place: ICELAND/Yohanna-Is it true? (Real Placing: 2nd-218 points)

Well, this song is so heartbreaking because of the lyrics, her voice is so good, the performance is cute with that dress and the background, the music is so pretty and it’s a very enjoyable song, such a precious ballad and Yohanna is so beautiful as well. This in 2010 would’ve been better, sadly, that’s just a fairytale, and she was beaten by a fairytale as well. 

4th Place: UNITED KINGDOM/Jade Ewen-It’s my time (Real Placing: 5th-173 points) 

A magical ballad out of a Broadway musical, her voice is simply angelic, the music is stunning, beautiful, the staging is gorgeous, she’s beautiful and it’s the best UK entry of the decade for me. This has a very nice building and it finished with class and elegance. Simply beautiful. 

5th Place: AZERBAIJAN/AySel & Arash-Always (Real Placing: 3rd-207 points)

This is what I call an Azerbaijani song, this mends the damage they did to myself last year, this song is catchy, modern, dancy, it’s such a perfect song and it has ethnic sounds as well. They sing nice, the performance is so wonderful and I’m in love with it. 

6th Place: ESTONIA/Urban Symphony-Rändajad (Real Placing: 6th-129 points)

This is one of the songs I use to concentrate before my studies, the music is so magical, her voice is so beautiful and calm, it’s like a fairy, the staging is pretty and wow, I always feel out of this dimension with this song, it’s so relaxing as well. It’s one of the best Estonian entries in the world. 

7th Place: SWEDEN/Malena Ernman-La voix (Real Placing: 21st-33 points)

LA VOIIIIIIIIIIX, this lady is such a charming person, her smile is pretty and the song is so good, it’s one of my fave songs from Sweden of the late 00′s and her voice is such a delight to listen. The music is so schlager and that’s what makes me love it. Her dress is so beautiful and yeah, Sweden was underrated that year. 

8th Place: TURKEY/Hadise-Düm tek tek (Real Placing: 4th-177 points)

Wow, this song has an ethnic style to it and Hadise is such a perfect singer, also she’s stunning, the performance is everything and the düm tek tek part is very catchy and I enjoy it so much, I loved it since the first time I heard it and wow, it’s charming. 

9th Place: SPAIN/Soraya Arnelas-La noche es para mí (Real Placing: 24th-23 points)

Oh come on, this song is very good and finished second last, the music is enchanting, her voice is good, wish I could say the same to the backing singers, but it’s a nice song, the lyrics are good, and the performance is okay, surely this is a very catchy song. 

10th Place: ARMENIA/Inga & Anush-Jan jan (Real Placing: 10th-92 points)

Armenia again serving quality, this entry has a lot of ethnic sounds, the dancing is perfect, they sing so well together and this feels like something out of the desert, the staging is so clever and effective and it’s such a lovely song, JAN JAN 

11th Place: GREECE/Sakis Rouvas-This is our night (Real Placing: 7th-120 points)

Again the Greek god is back, and with an amazing song as his last attempt in 2004, not the result he wanted but this song is so good, I love the music because it’s very modern for the time and the performance was so good and epic. 

12th Place: ISRAEL/Noa & Mira Awad-There must be another way (Real Placing: 16th-53 points) 

A very powerful song with a deep meaning, these ladies surely have nice harmonies and the music is so beautiful, also ARABIC AGAIN IN ESC, it’s so nice. I enjoy so much the bridge before the last part, it’s simply stunning. 

13th Place: PORTUGAL/Flor-de-lis-Todas as ruas do amor (Real Placing: 15th-57 points) 

A cheerful and happy song, also the stage is so colorful and beautiful, her voice is calm and sweet and that makes the song so enjoyable, the music is so stunning and it’s one of the most calm songs ever. 

14th Place: MALTA/Chiara-What if we (Real Placing: 22nd-31 points)

Aww Chiara is back for a third time, and even if I think this is her weakest song, it has a lot of beauty and the music is so perfect and good, her voice is, as always, stunning and out of this world and she’s the only one that can fill a big stage with only a beautiful voice.  

15th Place: MONTENEGRO/Andrea Demirović-Just get out of my life (Real Placing: 11th SF1-44 points) 

Why this failed to qualify, the music is so good, her voice is amazing and the performance is simple but charming and effective, I always dance to this one and IMO one of the best Montenegrin entries on the contest. 

16th Place: BELARUS/Petr Elfimov-Eyes that never lie (Real Placing: 13th SF1-25 points) 

Another epic and nice rock song, his voice is so cool and the music is so powerful and inspiring, the performance is amazing and full of lights, also THAT STEADICAM SHOT IS EPIC AND PERFECT. It’s one of my favorite songs that year and IMO this deserved the final, but there were many amazing songs. 

17th Place: MOLDOVA/Nelly Ciobanu-Hora din Moldova (Real Placing: 14th-69 points) 

SUCH AN ENERGETIC SONG AND I LOVE IT, her voice is such a pleasant trip, the performance is happy and catchy and the music is perfect, one of my favorite Moldovan songs ever. This makes me want to go to Moldova and dance there. 

18th Place: ROMANIA/Elena-The Balkan girls (Real Placing: 19th-40 points)

Wow, this song is so nice, it has a fresh feeling to it and the music has nice elements, also she has a nice voice, it’s a very cute song and I love the Balkan girls.  

19th Place: FINLAND/Waldo’s People-Lose control (Real Placing: 25th-22 points/last) 

Why this finished last? I love this song so much, but maybe I love more the studio version, the performance here is so cool and I love the projections. Their voices are good but not the best, but the music is so epic and I like it. An undeserved last place. 

20th Place: CROATIA/Igor Cukrov & Andrea-Lijepa tena (Real Placing: 18th-45 points)

Hey Igor... I mean, this is a very lovely song, the music is so charming and he has a very nice voice, also Andrea is a very talented singer and I’m so amazed by this song, at first I thought it was boring but now I like it, such a nice entry. 

21st Place: ALBANIA/Kejsi Tola-Carry me in your dreams (Real Placing: 17th-48 points) 

The music here is one of the best things ever from Albania, I enjoy it so much, her voice is so special and the performance is quite weird but I like it, I’m hypnotized by that bridge and also, I feel so guilty because this is very low on my top. 

22nd Place: UKRAINE/Svetlana Loboda-Be my valentine (Real Placing: 12th-76 points)

SVETLANA <3 she’s so stunning, the music is so nice, it’s so powerful and memorable, also her voice is so good and the performance is quite weird because there were many things happening at the same time, still, I like this song and it’s one of the entries that I always remember from this year. 

23rd Place: GERMANY/Alex Swings, Oscar Sings-Miss Kiss Kiss Bang (Real Placing: 20th-35 points)  

One of my guiltiest pleasures ever, this entry has everything, a nice singer, the performance is so pretty and cool, the music has a mix of classic elements and modern touches and Oscar is cute. I don’t know why but I can’t stay still while listening to this song. 

24th Place: BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA/Regina-Bistra voda (Real Placing: 9th-106 points)

THE INTRO OMG <3 it’s so good, the music is so relaxing and beautiful, his voice is so amazing and it’s a very nice entry, love the Balkan elements and everything here blends perfectly. I’m so mesmerized by this song, and I feel so bad because of putting this so low. 

25th Place: ANDORRA/Susanne Georgi-La teva decisió (Get a life) (Real Placing: 15th SF1-8 points)   

This song is so good, the music is charming, her voice is very nice and the whole package is so pleasant to hear, I’m so happy because of this song, it’s so nostalgic as well and sadly this is the last Andorran song to date, which is a shame because they were very good. 

26th Place: CYPRUS/Christina Metaxa-Firefly (Real Placing: 14th SF2-32 points) 

Another lovely and cute ballad, she’s so beautiful and cute, the music is subtle and the performance is beautiful, her voice could’ve been better and the last part it’s so epic, I love this song as well. 

27th Place: POLAND/Lidia Kopania-I don’t wanna leave (Real Placing: 12th SF2-43 points) 

A lovely ballad, her voice is so stunning, as well as the performance, the music is so cool and wow, I’m in love with her, this is a beautiful song and I’m in love with this song as well. 

28th Place: SLOVENIA/Quartissimo feat. Martina-Love symphony (Real Placing: 16th SF2-14 points) 

The music here is so cute and lovely, which makes the 80% of the song and I like it, maybe her voice was a bit off key here, and it’s very sad because it could’ve lifted this song to the sky, overall this entry is very enjoyable and I can imagine it being played live instead of a backing track. 

29th Place: RUSSIA/Anastasiya Prikhodko-Mamo (Real Placing: 11th-91 points)

WHAT A VOICE DOES SHE HAS, the music is so deep and the meaning of the song is very sad but I like it, the performance is quite creepy but it’s effective, I can’t place it higher because I like more other 28 songs. Also Ukranian on a Russian song... interesting. 

30th Place: DENMARK/Niels Brinck-Believe again (Real Placing: 13th-74 points)   

This entry isn’t bad, but I’m not so fond of it, also this reminds me of another song, his voice is quite good and the music is nice, sadly I can’t connect with it and it’s a bit flat though. 

31st Place: SERBIA/Marko Kon and Milaan-Cipela (Real Placing: 10th SF2-60 points)  

Oh this is such an interesting song, his voice is so deep but enjoyable, the music is lovely and catchy, also the performance is so colorful and cool, it’s one of my guilty pleasures ever. 

32nd Place: SWITZERLAND/Lovebugs-The highest heights (Real Placing: 14th SF1-15 points)  

This is a very lovely song, the music is cool, but the voice of the lead singer could’ve been better, also the staging is stunning, it’s one of the songs I can’t decide properly which place will it be on my top, I like it. 

33rd Place: IRELAND/Sinéad Mulvey and Black Daisy-Et cetera (Real Placing: 11th SF2-52 points)

Awwww pure nostalgia, this song is like the music I heard those years, her voice is good and the music is so perfect, but still I struggle to remember this song at all. 

34th Place: HUNGARY/Zoli Ádok-Dance with me (Real Placing: 15th SF2-16 points)

Oh of course I’ll dance with you.. ehem... well this song is interesting, the disco sounds are nice but his voice could’ve been better, also that outfit it’s quite hideous, not one of Hungary’s best attempts ever.  

35th Place: FYR MACEDONIA/Next Time-Nešto što kje ostane (Real Placing: 10th SF1-45 points)

This is a very decent song, but I can’t remember it instantly, I love the music and the voice of the lead singer is good, still, I think this needed a better hook. A nice average rock song. 

36th Place: THE NETHERLANDS/The Toppers-Shine (Real Placing: 17th SF2-11 points)

A entry with potential ruined by a mediocre beat and the performance isn’t very good.They could’ve been better. The only thing I remember about this one is the DJ behind because it’s adorable. The rest... meh.  

37th Place: LITHUANIA/Sasha Son-Love (Real Placing: 23rd-23 points)  

I see why this is a nice song, the music is lovely and the verses are good, but the chorus ruins this song, also it’s a bit boring after many listens and that makes me feel sad about this one. 

38th Place: CZECH REPUBLIC/Gipsy.cz-Aven romale (Real Placing: 18th SF1-0 points/last)

This entry is funny? The music is interesting and the staging is very good, sadly I’m missing something in this one and turns annoying after a while into it, his clothes are lovely, I want that costume so badly. 

39th Place: LATVIA/Intars Busulis-Probka (Real Placing: 19th SF2-7 points/last)

This performance is the proof you need to never drink energy drinks before hitting the stage, the music is interesting and the chorus is very good, but the verses ruin this and overall makes this entry messy and weird. 

40th Place: SLOVAKIA/Kamil Mikulčík and Nela Pocisková-Let’ tmou (Real Placing: 18th SF2-8 points) 

A sad return for Slovakia, the music is charming, but I’m not fond of her voice so much because I think it’s a bit annoying and screamish, also I think that the chorus has a messy melody and progression, that doesn’t match the verses. 

41st Place: BELGIUM/Copycat-Copycat (Real Placing: 17th SF1-1 point)

Oh an Elvis tribute, but sadly this is a bit bad actually, the music is quite good but this didn’t work on stage, because it felt empty and cheap, his voice is nice, but I can’t put this entry higher. 

42nd Place: BULGARIA/Krassimir Avramov-Illusion (Real Placing: 16th SF1-7 points)

Oh this song is a complete mess from top to bottom, the voices are very bad, the music sounds a bit cheap and the staging is so weird, I always want to forget this song because it’s very bad, nothing here connects with me.

OOC SURVEY/ADMIN EVAL #1.

We do a lot of things well. Everyone is so friendly with each other, we talk about a lot together, and overall I think everyone is pretty talkative with each other in the OOC. I think it’s a lovely place to be, the majority of the roleplay agreeing! I want to thank you guys for your lovely comments on my adminning that nearly made me cry ( happy tears ). Reading the results, almost everyone agreed the environment was friendly, welcoming and something that surprised me – fast paced. For me, this came as a surprise – but I realized, though the dash is not always fast paced – the OOC Discord is. So, I think activity here is very much partly dependent on the OOC communication, if you’re around, participating, talking character headcanons etc. I definitely see why it’s fast paced, so, I’m going to maybe try to stretch out timestamps more, maybe even lengthen our activity limit, etc. I know it can be overwhelming when you’re not around to jump into the RP, so I will definitely try to be better with the summaries channel, but please know you can take your time and there’s no rush. 

A few things that I’ll note that I’m not going to change, there was a very small minority that didn’t like the different channels, felt they didn’t help the OOC, and since a large majority didn’t agree ( as well as myself ), that isn’t going to change. If you’re extremely concerned, please come to me directly and we can definitely discuss it! The people who people had problems with have either left, been kicked out, or talked to. But overall, there weren’t really any which was really good to see.

Overall, I think that we all are trying, we’re all here, I think there’s something really solid here as well. Over 85 percent of you guys felt that based on the OOC environment this RP would be long lasting, which is so fucking amazing! Like wow! I’m still shook.

But just like Our Lord and Savior Shuri has said ‘"Just because something works, doesn’t mean it can’t be improved.“

The overall theme of the things we need to work on is communication. from what I see as well as have been told, there’s a lack of it between everyone. Though we all talk with each other, there’s a lack of communication between where we all stand, what’s going on, and plotting . I want to preface this by saying, the reason I’m so strict about these certain things ( and my rules ) is because I’m very lenient regarding other things. In order for the roleplay to be successful OOC, the rules in place need to be followed, so that leniency is something I’ll be able to grant. There’s a certain idea and sense of community in this RP I’m trying to foster, communication being an important factor in this. There are people who feel ignored, people who feel the RP is hard to break into, and over half of the RP feels the RP is cliquey. Even though most they also think the clique(s) are welcoming, some feel they are hard to break into. I don’t think ANY of this is on purpose, but I can’t ignore what I’ve read & how other members are feeling. I’ll explain more below, but no matter what, it’s not acceptable & something we’re going to work on.

One thing I have noticed is the way each intro seems to have a different number of notes, which was something that I noticed early on ( I didn’t think it posed an issue then because it wasn’t that major ) which then drastically change., This denotes to me that they’re not being read or at the very least, liked, as a way to be welcoming and archive it for later. I could be wrong in this assumption, but as it’s a rule in the rules, from now on if I don’t see everyone liking intros within a week or so, I will send out messages individually. I know it seems extreme but no one in this roleplay’s intros should have less than ten notes at least & that’s being generous. There’s over 20 people in the roleplay. The numbers are off there. There is nothing that makes me feel worse than coming into an RP, posting my intro, and seeing multiple people on / around in the chat but none of them liking my intro.  A quarter of the RP have not been approached by at least three people to plot  and with all of this, these two things combined I’m most disappointed about. Because no matter what, there’s absolutely no excuse for these rules to be broken.  I’m going to be pairing everyone up for threads that they must communicate the status of within a week. Whether the starter is up and you haven’t replied, your partner hasn’t replied to your IM, you couldn’t get a starter up you’re still plotting, etc. I need you guys to communicate with me and each other.

Like each others intros. Reach out to each other to plot. Seriously.

The tags are there so you can go through them, check out everyone’s info, creations, self paras, moodboards, etc. – support each other with it. I’ll try to be more proactive myself in not only reblogging each edit on the main, but putting it into our Edits & Pinterest channel. To ease some people’s minds I’m going to make a player updates channel where everyone can put whether or not they’re on hiatus, what’s going on with them, the status of their activity & PM answering, etc. so we all know where we are with things. I think a good chunk of the miscommunication in this area can be solved with a channel like this. This is a group RP, so please try to interact with the whole group & learn about their characters because it’s only right. This is something I stress in the rules as well because no one likes to feel like them or their characters aren’t important in an RP – something a few people have been feeling.

When you talk about a headcanon that might pertain to another person’s character, @ them in discord! Another thing someone mentioned was the lack of follow up via messaging. While I completely understand not being able to have the concentration to reply to PMs as opposed to a group chat, this person was extremely discouraged by the fact that they’re plotting messages didn’t really go far, their messages unanswered after over a week, while seeing people plot with each other in the main chat & talk about plotting with each other via PMs. Something I’ve also seen, something I’ve also done, which I apologize for! This isn’t acceptable to me. We do all have lives, yes, but just make sure to communicate what is going on. A simple ‘I’m busy, slow, and having issues with reaching out at the moment to plot so I’ll answer this as soon as I can’ can really go a long way. I think these thread pairings with the player updates channel would be a good start in turning that around.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that there’s a lot of talk of things that are from other roleplays, other experiences, that are shared between groups of people that are often talked about in the general chat. What I mean is: I see a lot of talks of other roleplay experiences, characters not in the roleplay, that while I know you don’t mean to exclude, I don’t believe anyone in this roleplay would, it can be intimidating and come off as very clique-ish. In fact, this is where I think the perception of people thinking half of the people in this group are cliquey are from.

This was one thing that reflected in the survey that seemed to be spilt down the middle – half of the roleplay felt that the group wasn’t cliquey while the other half felt it was as well as either: hard to break into it ( minority of this half ), or it was but still friendly ( majority of this half ). While I know everyone is willing to explain these past experiences that are shared together to anyone who ask, it’s intimidating to come into a group with people who know each other who then talk about private things. I’ve indulged in this too ( I’m sorry about that! ), so I’m partially to blame for allowing this, but please watch talking about things not related specifically to this roleplay as it can make it seem as if you’re clique-ish. It’s intimidating and makes other people not want to approach and especially discouraging when a few people mentioned they felt their characters aren’t important or that their thoughts weren’t cared about. So, unless you’re willing to explain enough of what you’re talking about to other people so that they get it, then don’t talk about it as it makes people feel excluded. Inside jokes between people who know each other are going to happen, but try to remember that there are other people who might feel excluded due to you talking about those experiences in a group setting/chat. If you were in there position, watching a bunch of people talk about their character connections from other RPs, it might feel excluding as well.

To some of the people who do/might feel excluded, one thing I’ve noticed is the lack of just jumping into conversations – which is understandable. But I highly encourage you to try, engage with other people in the chat when you can, ask questions, offer things to talk about. Ask about their characters. Read up a bit in the chat if you can to see what is being said & talked about before jumping in, respond to others, engage with them the way you want to be engaged. The people who are talking with each other in the chat have put in effort & time to talk with each other, plot, they didn’t always know each other if they did, but they had to put themselves out there first & foremost. I know I have both anxiety and social anxiety so it can be hard, but we are in a group roleplay where communication is key within the group – so I do think an updates channel will be helpful so you don’t have to constantly remind or let people know but there needs to be an effort from your end as well. So, if you see a conversation, jump in!

Those are the points that I’d touch on most, and really, I know that all of this was not of any malicious intent or trying to be excluding at all, but it’s how some people have felt and some of the things I’ve noticed that I think we can really all improve on.

#ItsOkayToNotBeOkay Been wanting to write a review since the series ended last Sunday. Sharing some of my thoughts: 1. I miss KSH. ❤ This is his comeback project after his military service. So, namiss ko talaga siya. ❤ 2. The story is comforting to me especially during this time of quarantine. It is an emotional healing drama that tackles about mental health issues and autism awareness. Kudos to the writers and directors pulling off a script and fairy tale readings that gave us many life lessons, (often times really tugging at my heart) and a superb cinematography to match it. I will miss the sceneries of the fictional Seongjin City. 3. It also gave me a warm feeling seeing familiar faces of the cast members, Director Oh (bestfriend siya ni KSH sa  MLFTS, Juri-eomma (eomma siya ni Park Shin Hye sa The Heirs), gusto ko malaman recipe sa side dish na quail eggs and gusto ko rin tumira sa bahay nila at mag-hangout sa rooftop. Sangtae (Oh Jung Se - I only got to see him in WTCB and really, he is one of the versatile actors around!), Jaesu (bestfriend siya ni Lee Je Hoon sa Tomorrow, with You) And all of the supporting characters, para ko narin naging new found friends. While with Seo Ye Ji, yes I've seen her before but it really took me a while (like maybe until episode 8 or 9? Halfway na) to finally convince myself na yes, okay, meron talaga silang chemistry ni KSH. 😊 O masyado lang akong clingy kay baby love. 🤣😂😍 4. Yes, may plot holes and at times slow paced. I think for me, may mga series talaga na they take time to unravel the whole story. This is the first time, in how many years, that I watched an on going series, so I am always waiting for the weekends to come. While on Twitter, episode hashtags were always trending and I enjoyed reading tweets relating to the same way I am feeling. 5. Soundtrack is equally soothing to my ears. I had to listen to it again on loop, even the intro, it got me teary eyed when they played it at the end credits for the last episode. When I say that picking the player of Charlotte took me thirty whole minutes after I have read all three applications (impossibly beautiful, all three, and impossible to compare, for they were three different Charlottes that I wanted to see shifted into three different characters, all played in the roleplay group’s context), it’s not a hyperbole. I read about Charlotte being the heiress, the wasp and the strategic, and I honestly couldn’t possibly tell which I liked most, reason why I have literally written this acceptance message for two of the three versions and was ready to post it. I love her a lot. (ok duh I love her a lot or I wouldn’t be applying for her. look @ me stating the obvious.) But on a more serious and hopefully less obvious note, what I’m always drawn towards is characters’ relationships, and Charlotte’s, I feel, have the potential to be very interesting because she’s almost always superior. Not in a mean way. It’s just how it is. Charlotte Zerilli is everything, has everything, and no matter how approachable and friendly she paints herself as, lingering around her is an air of superiority she can’t seem to wash off. This is what creates chasms. Between her and whoever she’s talking to, there’s a distance. And it’s kinda sad because she longs to have close, personal relationships, but feels like she can’t because nobody understands her, and she thinks nobody can. CURIOUS  ━ As a child, bright and starry eyed, there was a lot about the world around her that Charlotte didn’t quite understand. It wasn’t necessarily because anyone was hiding anything from her (for there weren’t many secrets in the Zerilli household. There was no shame, no need). Rather, there was so much for her to learn and so little time. She wished to know everyone and everything intimately. Twenty years on and not much has changed, although she’s become more subtle in her questions and artful in her use of information.

SECRETIVE ━ Charlotte has this curious ability of making it seem like she over-shares, is honest and straightforward, but there are worlds and worlds she hides. Mainly, what she perceives to be her weaknesses. The most obvious is prooobably the Mafia thing. While she’s become more accepting of it (or, more specifically, the softer aspects of it - i’ll explain later), it’s still not something she talks openly about. Still, it subconsciously shapes her. Behind her mercy, her kindness, is a vain attempt to balance out her family’s crimes. She overcompensates for wrongs she didn’t commit. Not only this, but she doesn’t really talk about her feelings, either, internalising emotion and stress to the point of it being physically detrimental. She’s also big on denial. Always running.

COMPASSIONATE ━ It is perhaps this that came as the biggest surprise to her father and mother although, to be fair, they should’ve expected it. Instead of being given half the love, the Zerilli twins received double from their parents. There was not a moment Charlotte was allowed to feel alone. Her heart surges with the same affection for everyone, not just reserved for family like her father’s is.

VERSATILE ━ Multifaceted and adaptable, Charlotte can go from sleep-deprived academic, slaving away in one of Oxford’s many libraries to out-of-your-league party girl to loyal, advice-giving friend whenever it’s required of her. (Not that her heart truly fits into the moulds she creates for herself, but that’s another story.) The girl prides herself in being able to talk to anyone about pretty much any trivial topic. It is, she believes, an ode to having so many different people around to engage in idle chatter with her growing up, united by nothing but their ties to the Mafia. Her variety of talents, too, (piano, violin, dancing, tennis, painting – it goes on) showcase how her ability knows no limits.

FICKLE ━ An extension of above: because she’s everything, she’s nothing, really. Charlotte’s ephemeral and changeable. Always evolving. Indecisive. Not only about what to eat or what to wear, but about herself and her beliefs, too. For example, she no longer resents her bloodline, which was one of the strong moral stances she took as a teenager. Her perception is constantly changing. And because she’s so perceptive and intelligent, Charlotte can appreciate arguments and situations from different angles – being stubborn in a view means the exclusion of another, so she remains, like air, unsure, always hovering in between poles, restless.

SUPERIOR ━ She’s been running and running from it but, like everything, one chilling fact has caught up to her and there’s no denying it, at least not to herself: Charlotte Zerilli is lonely. How? In a room crowded with awestruck admirers, how is it possible that she feels so isolated? That’s exactly it – everyone’s just an awestruck admirer. Nobody’s really on her level (except Miles !!!! love it).

He’d been asking for years (and years and years) and, for a reason Charlotte couldn’t explain more tangibly than it felt right, on this mild Tuesday afternoon, she’d finally agreed. She’d go with him. “Yes. I’m ready,” she’d said, standing in his excessively large office that morning, voice betraying only a slight hesitation. He hadn’t picked up on it. Nobody ever really did. Rather, the light – was that pride? – Charlotte saw swimming to the surface of her father’s eyes served to remind her why she’d ever come back in the first place.

So she smiled, ducked her head and walked with him. As they weaved through the streets of Detroit, she was vaguely aware that this wasn’t a typical Don errand – not that she really knew what that was, granted, having spent the majority of her life actively not knowing. Of course, she’d heard whispers. How could she not have? She’d heard stories about how members of La Cosa Nostra beat people up, stole from them, killed them. Under her father’s orders. But Charlotte had never dared to bring it up with him. She wasn’t sure she’d be able to handle the confession. (Because, who was she kidding, it would’ve been a confession.)

If this was the case, what was she doing here and now? Staring into the eyes of the beast? God knows, she thought, kicking a can that was littering her path, adding to the little mound of rubbish piling up on the side of the road. But she sort of knew, too; it’d been, perhaps, a moment of weakness on her part. For resistance was so tiring. Running was tiring. She craved nothing more than her mother’s arms, her father’s kiss. So Charlotte did something that just a few years ago, she believed was synonymous with weakness, and maybe it was: she surrendered.

“This is it, Tesoro,” her father said at length. She glanced up to find they’d stopped in front of a house – or, she supposed, it was more of a shack. Charlotte watched as he brought his knuckles to the door, about to knock, the gold of his rings forming a stark contrast with the red, peeling paint.

Everything inside her screamed run, run, run. This wouldn’t end up well. No doubt. She was on the brink of witnessing her very first Mafia crime, about to stare into the heart of the Partnership’s – her family’s – sins. Guilt eyed her, licking its lips. It’d swallow her whole.

“N – no. Stop. Please. I can’t do this.” She felt sick. She had to get out of here.

He looked at her, eyebrows furrowed in confusion for a moment before his gaze flitted to the Capo who’d been trailing behind them. When he turned back to his daughter, his head tilted to the side, as if he understood her concern, and he smiled. In that second he was no longer the Godfather, but just her father. “Come on, Charlotte. Don’t you trust me?” But he changed back again. He always changed back again. Before she could answer (and the answer, as much as she hated it, in this moment, it would’ve probably been no), he’d already knocked at the door.

This was it.

The boy who answered couldn��t have been more than nineteen. Upon realising who it was, his eyes darkened, she guessed in fear, as she’d seen so many others’ do in his presence. They knew what he was capable of. If they even made one wrong move, they’d be, quite literally, dead. She wished it was over already.

“Boss,” he spluttered, bringing her father’s hand to his lips and kissing it.

The older Zerilli nodded in greeting. “This is my daughter, Charlotte.” As the boy moved to kiss her hand, too, her resolve faltered. Surely people didn’t introduce their kids to people they were about to murder. Then again, she didn’t know enough about Mafia customs to recognise that this wasn’t a murder mission at all, that he had people for that, and that this was a compassionate one.

“Will you come in? I can make – what d’you want? Tea? Coffee? I have Scotch.”

Her attention piqued; so she was wrong. Huh. Interesting. If not to beat this kid up, why were they here, then? Her eyes wandered inside, past the boy in the doorway, trying to pick up clues as her dad answered, “Not today. I just came to deliver this.” He handed him a thick envelope. Cash. It had to be. “How is she?”

“A lot better, Boss. Thank you so much for this. It really –”

He held up a hand to silence him. “Of course. It is our duty to help our family, at any cost.”

As they continued this conversation, it occurred to Charlotte, tuned out of the world and into her own mind for a moment, that she’d got it so very wrong. Maybe this wasn’t all bad. An odd sense of honour filled her at the scene; the same father who steadfastly looked out for her and her brother was using his position to look out for this (what she presumed was a) picciotto, too, and if there was one, there may be many more. They were – in his eyes – family. The Detroit Partnership. All the racketeering and the beating were somehow justified, at least a little bit, in her mind by this one act of compassion. How could she have been so judgmental before? It was her father’s blood that coursed through her veins, that made her strive to protect those who could not protect themselves. People like the ‘she’ he’d referred to. And who was she? Probably a sick relative. Mother, sister. It didn’t matter, really – all she knew was that it was someone who needed help. Help that the capofamiglia provided.

And right then, she finally understood what godfather meant.

INTRO

My girlfriend recently started working in another city, an hour away from our place. My shift ends at 6:30 while her ends at 10:00PM. So when I am not drained from work or sick, I make sure that I am there to fetch her from work. To get there, I could either ride a Grab at 270 Pesos or a taxi at around 200 pesos or 3 jeepneys for 28 pesos. I only tried jeepney once and its tiring (The usok, the traffic and the baho- sorry na maarte).

For some reason I decided to try the motorcycle version of grab today and here is a story of the longest 20 minutes of my life. Warning: lots of mura inside

THE KWENTO

F*ck and P*ta with lots of exclamation points, repeat 100 times. 😂

From the moment the ride started until we reached our destination, I must have said hundreds of these words. I can feel my heart stay silent everytime he tries to go in between trucks and cars and other motorcycles.

Another hundred p*ta everytime he went to the opposite lane to overtake the queue of vehicles stuck in traffic. Approximating, we stayed at the opposite lane almost more than half of the journey. The usual 2 hours trip shortened into 20 mins at the cost of almost having heart attack. And yes, we almost got hit by this speeding car. I guess the long heavy busina saved us. 😂 But thank God I got there in one piece, nalaglag nga lang sa sinapupunan ko ung puso ko.

THE COMEDIES

1. I had a hard time getting onboard the motorcyle because I am wearing tight jeans. Sa tagalog, kasi mataba ako at maikli ang paa ko.

2. He gave me a surgical mask. I wore it but took it off in the middle of the trip kasi mejo amoy laway. Di ko sure kung laway ko ba un orl gamit talaga siya. Question, binabalik ba dapat  ung mask?

3. I was looking at another "ang kaskasero" passenger, she was a girl and she looked relaxed, so is it just me who is over acting?

Pero p*ta talaga.

4. Pag baba ko nanlalambot ako i dont know if high blood or low blood basta dugdug sabi ng puso ko.

5. Seryoso hinihintay ko nalang na magflash back ung buong buhay ko.

Extro

The advantage of "ang kaskasero" is you get to where you want to be in a shorter span of time compared to other means of transportation.  (well if you want to get to one place to another fast and safe take airtaxi.ph ehem increase naman po jan for the promotion)

Going back, i think another advantage is.... dana i am really trying to think of another pero wala. Ow yes, its also cheaper than taxi and grab probably because of the risk.

In conclusion, maybe mabigat lang talaga ako kaya di mabalance ni koya ng maayos ung motor. Or maybe he is an import  "ang kaskasero" driver kaya di niya alam ang lane niya, baka right hand driver siya. Pero koya, thanks for taking me safe to where i need to be, nasundo ko ng maayos si girlfriend at di din ako buset sa traffic.

Would I take "ang kaskasero" service again?

Yes, when I need a dose of adrenaline in my body, para gisingin ang mga natutulog kong pag katao. #dinaigpaenchantedkingdom

And yes, kung may date kami ni kate at malalate na ko.

At exactly 3 years ago.. when someone Na nakasalubong ko sa mall..

I was in hurry that time, since we have an engagement as Bullies, to celebrate of Roby’s Birthday, a post celebration at Centerstage - Jupiter, Makati.

At first, I didn’t know who she was. However, on that moment, when she smiled at me and makes me realize that she was xml operator, taga office pa la toh.. so I just reciprocate that smile.

Hindi ko alam, na yung smile na pala na yun, in somehow, magkakaroon ng impact sa buhay ko as times goes by...

Ganun nga talaga siguro..

Some people we met are just passing by, yung iba nakikisabay lang.. yung iba they teach us to be strong and they give some lesson in life. Yung iba naman nagbibigay ng inspiration at nagpapasaya sa atin, at yung iba eto ung mga taong nag iwan ng mark sa mga puso natin.. both happiness and heartaches, and will never ever forget it 🙁 ☺️🙃

So eto na ulit ako.. Intro lang pala yun hahahahha..

Well, first of all.. I would like to thank you for all the things, thank you ng madaming madami, not just for being part of my team, but also for being my friend 😊, kahit mas madalas ikaw ang naga-adjust sa ating apat..😅

This is the 3rd time i felt this way, Nakakainis kasi sabi ko sa sarili ko na kapag naging sup ako.. since attachment is my weakness. magset ako ng boundaries.. Na hanggang dun lang.. Pero hindi pa din pala kasi you surpass that line., Siguro dahil nagjive ung personality natin..

Maybe.. dahil din.. same tayo ng gustong music.. simula kasi ng wala sila baby at keng, Ako nalang ung nakikinig sa ganung music.. Music Is life eh.. kahit ayaw ng music sa akin ahahaha.. 🎶🎵

Pero nung naging kateam kita, ang saya kasi may kaparehas ako na pwede ishare,..

Mamimiss ko yung nightshift natin., Sa dami ng alam mong kanta.. Sorry kung madalas kapag kashift kita ang kulit ko at ang ingay ko., di ko namamalayan na ang ingay ko na.. Tahimik kasi talaga ako eh.. totoo un, tanong mo pa kay Jayson hahaha..

Pero maingay lang ako, pero yung isa dyan.. kwentuhan lang eh, tawanan lang taz biglang mang hahampas hahaha..

Ramdam ko yun eh, nung nagkwento ko sa akin, nung naguupdate ka sa akin.. nagagawa mo pa din ngumiti, at magpasaya sa iba, yung tipong ang dami mong chat, na nakakatawa naman talaga kapag sobrang seryoso na natin sa work..

Even if, kahit na malungkot ako ngayon kasi nawalan ako ng isang member na masipag, masarap magluto hahaha.. Late nga lang hahaha.. 😂🤣 Diyan din parehas pa tayo.. Kainis..

I understand it.. kasi walang hindi kakayanin ng isang ina para sa kanya anak, para kay Gabe un eh 😊☺️

TM Speech 7: Research Your Topic

I delivered my BSP # 6 on our Oct. 28 meeting. My schedule for my next speech is on Nov. 18 because I scheduled my speeches one meeting apart para di gahol sa oras (but then I always end up gahol sa oras hahaha). 

The club is after an incentive from the district- an LCD projector. The club borrows from our venue for our projector needs but there has been instances when the projector wasn’t compatible with the laptop then our meetings start at 2pm, the same time the secretariat of our venue would open so siyempre we couldn’t set up earlier than 2pm e dapat by that time the gavel should have been banged for call to order. And personally, I want to get it because in case I ever leave the club, there’d be something that would physically manifest my...legacy as prez. 

Chos. But yeaaaah. 

But to get that incentive, we need to at least achieve 5 club goals. The district bought 50 projectors. The first 50 clubs to reach 5 will get projectors. Gusto ko nang umachieve agad agad so we held a joint meeting last Saturday with Manila Bay TMC. It was out our our usual 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month schedule so I did undestand na merong members who wouldn’t be able to join but not to the extent na 3 lang kami from BFCTMC who confirmed Friday night. Huhu. 

Manila Bay TMC is based somewhere in Kalaw but its president is Sir Ed (the club recently restructured. He was still the VPE the last time I wrote about TM here) and he hosted the meeting at his place in Las Pinas. Iba si Sir Ed, he made a lectern, bought a gavel, and got improv time cards just for that meeting. Tapos mej na-sad ako because of the low turnout, it may be disappointing for him. Then I thought that maybe we could just not go through with it, i-cancel na lang natin so I asked Dolly at around 12am na ata ‘yon. Sabi niya, that I prepare maybe 2 speeches. Siya rin, magspeech. Push na daw. 

Sabi ko I’d write. But pagod na talaga katawang lupa ko  (I left the office at around 5pmish to eat dinner and watch 12 at Commercenter, returned to the office around 9pm then worked until 11pm) so I slept until 11am. Syempre I wanted to have my prep time before the meeting and I wanted to drop by a bakery to get pastries or cake as a thank you gift to Sir Ed so wala na talagang speech-writing na nangyari. 

I got to his place. He said, mag-speech na daw ako. I said wala akong na-ready. My next speech project would be BSP 7: Research Your Topic so this should take time right kasi it’s something from a research? 

I asked if I can maybe skip a speech project?

He said yes. 

I looked at my remaining speech projects: Visual Aids, Persuasion, Inspiration. Parang di ko naman kayang gumawa ng speech for those projects in such short notice. So I decided, di na lang talaga ako mag-speech. I went there to be the GE lang. 

Dolly came and she and Sir Ed ganged up on me and Chris. Mag-speech daw kami. Si Chris go lang, chill lang siya. 

While I kinda wanna puke. HAHAHAHA. 

But sabi ni Dolly, gawin ko na daw. Once I get to do this successfully, kaya ko na gawin lahat ng speech with minimal prep.

Napagawa ako madam and I broke my rule about not talking about my job. Sabi kasi ni Sir Ed, speak something that you have a mastery on.

BSP 7: Research Your Topic

Objectives:

1. Cite information from outside sources

2. Support your points 

The intro form will be used by the host to introduce me before I deliver my speech. I dropped in there my MS score of 95% to get some sort of credibility sa mga sasabihin ko and to lift myself up before bombing the speech project. #compensating

I did my outline: 

Title: Accounting for Decision Making

I. Intro

Fields of accounting >  Practice in commerce > Here’s what I do. 

II. What I do

A. Assets (def from IAS ganyan para bibo)

B. Liabilities

C. Revenues

D. Expenses. 

III. Even if I get stressed out, I still appreciate my job. 

Surprisingly, Sir Ed gave me a glowing evaluation. He was my evaluator for my last speech and he said I improved greatly. 

Omaygad. Totoo ba dat. Or maybe because I just used too much jargons that he lost drift hahahah. Joke lang.)

Na-realize ko din, maybe I had been better then because I was just concentrating on getting my message across and in all my previous speeches, I had anxiety for forgetting my next point. Interesting epiphany.

That’s not the only this that happened that night (we started officially at 6pm). Sir Ed got his sons Lance (age 18) and Hans (age 12) to join the meeting as speech crafters. Ang galing, they were able to deliver ice breakers aka talk about themselves in 3-5 minutes in such short notice and not the usual ice breaker where facts were just thrown and nothing made sense. Iba. For Hans, he used story-telling, he had humor, he had intro-body-concl. For Lance, he ended strong with a memorable line. Naiisip ko lang how much potential they have as public speakers. Naa-amaze ako, besh. 

Then Sir Ed delivered a speech from the Special Occasions Manual and he presented an award to... me. 

Akalain mo yan. For my good leadership skills daw with points like having Ms. Ching represent us in the Area/Division/District or still doing the joint meeting not for myself but for the club. Off yung first point because I wasn’t even able to attend the area and division contest because of work and philsat review but for the second one... well, tbh even with AIESEC, I do this. Lamoyon, if not for my position in the club, I wouldn’t ask favors and whatnot (because personally I hate asking for favors even if I usually give it #pride). Then he mentioned, we wouldn’t be in his house for that meeting if not for me. Well, half a point was right.

For my acceptance kindaspeech, I gave credit to whom credit should be due. It was really Dolly to got Ms. Ching up to the district level competition. Had Dolly told me to cancel the joint meeting when I asked her if we should still go through it, I’d tell Sir Ed na di matutuloy. So yeah, everytime I get reluctant and couldn’t hold a meeting with the rest of the officers, I go to Dolly. (Also, I kinda cheat that way, to get the support of all officers and not to place the decision-making all to me, lagi akong nag-aask for meeting. Para whatever resolution we can make as body, I’ll always get to say that it’s what majority of the officers want, I’m just enforcing it. Ganyan)

Basta, ang galing ng meeting kahit na 6 lang kami that the meeting stretched on until almost 9pm, pasahan lang kami over the lectern. 

It’s really something for the books to the extent I can’t even think of something original to describe the experience. Besh, iba.
